The Greater Philadelphia Orchid Society (GPOS) meets at
Cathedral Village, on Cathedral Avenue (At Ridge Road), in the Cathedral
room. Regular monthly meetings are held on the last Thursday of the
month from September to June at 8 pm (Third Thursday in November and
December). Plants for the show table should be in place for judging by 7:45 pm. Each
month we have either a mini-auction or plant raffle. Speakers and members
also bring plants for sale at meetings. An educational session is held beginning
at 7:15 pm covering a different topic each month. Beginners are encouraged to
attend. Driving Directions from: PA Turnpike -Use Exit #333 – Norristown. Take the ramp for Germantown Pike East. Immediately merge into the left lane of traffic on Germantown Pike. Continue on Germantown Pike to the third light (Joshua Road). Turn right. Continue to first light (Ridge Pike). Turn Left onto Ridge Pike. Continue to the seventh traffic light (Cathedral Road). Turn Right on Cathedral Road and go to the first entrance of Cathedral Village. Center City Philadelphia -Take the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) west to the Belmont Avenue/Green Lane Exit #338. Turn Right and cross bridge. At the traffic light, turn left onto Main Street. Go one block and turn right onto Levering Street. Continue straight up Levering Street to Ridge Avenue. Turn Left. Continue driving to 11th traffic light at Cathedral Road; turn left onto Cathedral Road to Cathedral Village entrance. Delaware -Take I-95 North into Pennsylvania. Take Exit #7 (I-476 North) which is clearly marked for Plymouth Meeting. Continue on I-476 for eighteen miles to Exit #18 (Norristown) which will bring you up onto Ridge Pike in the direction for Cathedral Village. Continue driving south/east to the 11th traffic light (at Cathedral Road). Turn Right onto Cathedral Road to Cathedral Village entrance. Once you have entered the grounds, bear RIGHT at the
traffic circle and look for the connector bridge between two buildings.
The entrance to our meeting room in on the RIGHT side, UNDER the bridge.
The entrance is protected from weather and is well lighted. Parking is
close by. |
