What is G.P.O.S.?
The Greater Philadelphia Orchid Society meets the THIRD Thursday of each month, except for July and August. Meetings are held at the
Cathedral Room of Cathedral Village, Ridge Avenue and Cathedral Roads in the Roxborough/Andorra section of Philadelphia. Secure off-street
parking is provided free of charge. Meetings begin approximately 8:00pm. Visitors are welcome.
Each month we have a presentation of
interest to orchid enthusiasts. These presentations can range anywhere from one or two of our members discussing a particular type
of plant, to active demonstrations, to world renowned orchid experts. Often presentations are accompanied by
slide shows or PowerPoint
presentations.
Following the presentation, our team of American Orchid Society judges reviews and discusses the outstanding plants
on our show table. Show table plants receive award points which can earn the exhibitor credit toward plants or supplies from our future
speakers.
Refreshments are served throughout the meeting.
The Greater Philadelphia Orchid Society is a non-profit organization and a certified affiliate society of the American Orchid Society. Membership is open to the general public.
